About the Fontanini Tradition

The Fontanini Nativity tradition, carried on here at HouseofFontanini.com, began over 100 years ago in Bagni di Lucca, Italy, in the hills of Tuscany by Emanuele Fontanini. In 1908, he opened his first shop, establishing a family business that grew from humble beginnings into a world-renowned creator of heirloom-quality Nativity sets and figurines.

Each figure is made of durable polymer, meticulously sculpted, molded, and hand-painted by skilled artisans through a multi-generational, family-guided process in Italy.

Today, House of Fontanini proudly continues this tradition through retail and e-commerce sales direct to the consumer. For over 25 years, we have been a locally owned small business serving collectors from our Minnesota warehouse. We don’t just sell Fontanini — we love it.
